Hampshire-based Raymond Brown Construction (RBC) has announced the strategic appointment of its new managing director Guy Hardacre.
Guy joins the board with more than 30 years’ experience in the construction industry having previously worked for Dean & Dyball since 1987 where he held various positions including main board director.
A graduate in civil engineering, Guy, 53, has worked across the southern region during his extensive career fulfilling a number of roles including project delivery, estimating and business development as well as general management. His latest appointment will see the sailing enthusiast head the construction arm of the £66m-turnover Raymond Brown Group, working alongside Group MD and former colleague at Dean & Dyball Kelvin White.
RBC operates from its head office in Ringwood with area offices in Kent, Wales and Devon. On his appointment Guy, who lives in Hythe with his wife and two teenage children, said:
“I’m delighted to take up this role with a company I have, for a long time, held in high-esteem. Despite the difficult construction market, RBC has been delivering a multitude of projects across a whole range of sectors from education, waste and renewable energy to leisure, commercial and industrial."
“With many projects in the imminent pipeline, it’s an exciting time to be joining the business."
“I am looking forward to working with the rest of the board to reinforce the company’s position as one of the leaders in its sectors and to continue delivering the high-standards, that not just RBC is recognised for, but the Group as a whole.”
Kelvin added: “It is a great privilege to welcome Guy to the business. Having worked together in the past, I am confident the skills and qualities he brings will enable further development of the company in to a diverse and prosperous regional contractor while we continue to outperform industry norms.”
Raymond Brown Group comprises four divisions: RBC, Raymond Brown Minerals & Recycling, Raymond Brown Building and Wilkins Builders.
