Bell Equipment UK has appointed Nick Learoyd as its new sales and marketing manager for the UK and Ireland.
Nick has a long association with Bell as a customer over the past 12 years, having been sales and marketing director for Alfred McAlpine, a role that he continued when the company was bought by Carillion in 2008.
He began his new role, based at Bell's UK headquarters in Staffordshire, on February 14.
The appointment follows the departure of Josh Foster, who has taken on the role of general manager for Bell's operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Nick said: "I've been associated with the Bell product for a number of years, specifying, procuring and operating the full range of Bell articulated dump trucks throughout the UK. The products have continually improved over this time to become market leaders in various applications.
"Bell has always been easy to do business with as they have a focused team that understands the needs of the customer and works hard to satisfy the buying criteria. I like the way Bell does business and I'm looking forward to joining an entrepreneurial team that is committed to excellent customer service."
Nick added that Bell had a number of unique selling points which were major differentiators for equipment purchasers in the current economic climate.
"For example, there is a massive focus on minimising fuel burn across the board, and I know from operating the Bell product that there's not a machine in the industry that can match a Bell when it comes to fuel economy," he said.
Neville Paynter, managing director of Bell UK, said: "I've worked in the industry with Nick for the past five years and know him as a man of strong integrity and loyalty, an enthusiastic knowledge of the construction sector and a professional leader. I'm sure Nick will fit in well with the Bell ethos."
