Following a successful Hillhead Exhibition earlier this year which saw the launch of the innovative Powerscreen® Aggwash; DUO hosted a three day open event to allow people the opportunity to view the new mobile wash plant in operation alongside a Gennaretti mobile water treatment plant.
Held at Elford Quarry, near Tamworth; the site is owned and operated by JPE Aggregates. One of the Midlands leading suppliers of primary, secondary and re-cycled aggregates, clays and soils the company have been operating for 20 years, having had involvement in major projects in the midlands area; including the Trent Valley Four Tracking Project (TV4) and the M6 Toll Road.
Currently JPE are using the site at Elford Quarry to process C & D and Utilities Waste with the first Powerscreen® Aggwash in the UK. Operating at up to 60tph the plant provides quick set-up, no civils and is ideal as it fully meets the need for mobility allowing quick relocation to a new site in the future.
DUO Sales Manager - John Bracken commented, "The Aggwash provides JPE with very clean, in specification material that they could not achieve by dry screening; this will increase their sales and grow their customer base."
The unique and innovative Powerscreen® Aggwash mobile wash plant brings together for the first time rinsing, screening, scrubbing and sand washing capabilities on a single transportable chassis. Primarily designed for the processing of construction & demolition waste but equally suited to virgin material applications. The Aggwash is capable of producing four grades of aggregate and two grades of sand.
As well as the Aggwash, JPE are also operating a mobile water treatment plant in the form of a Gennaretti centrifuge which was required to work along side the Aggwash, to prevent the silt and water going to the lagoon.
John Bracken further commented, "The centrifuge produces a cake that JPE can handle and dispose of on-site. It also prevents potential future issues with the Environment Agency."
In addition to the working demonstration of the two mobile machines DUO also exhibited an LJH Mobile Picking Station, an Armcon Mobile Volumetric Mixer and the new EDGE Slayer Shredder.
Flourishing in the excellent weather the event attracted scores of people from around the country. DUO Managing Director - Fintan McKeever, commented, "Once we started to promote the open day the initial interest was fantastic and we quickly realised that we were going to have to spread the event over three days to accommodate all those that wanted to attend."
The Aggwash received lots of positive feedback with many visitors impressed with its compact size and the ease of mobility on a single chassis and the quality of the product produced.
Several of the companies who attended are not currently washing aggregate but were delighted and surprised by the ease in which they could achieve with the Aggwash. DUO Sales Manager - John Allerton, commented, "The Aggwash opens up the possibility for many recycling companies to wash aggregate to a very high quality with an affordable plant which is well within most budgets."
Reaction to the open day itself was extremely favourable, many commenting that they found the DUO personnel very knowledgeable and in particular the ‘Return on Investment Tool' was very helpful and informative. Leaving a positive impression the Powerscreen Aggwash and the mobile centrifuge created such high interest that two confirmed deals were agreed at the show.
On a final note DUO expressed their thanks to JPE for their co-operation in allowing and assisting in the running of the event on their site and also all the visitors who attended the open days and made them such a success.
