Blue Machinery at RWM 2006

Waste treatment, recycling and materials handling equipment specialist, Blue Machinery Plc, is exhibiting at the RWM Show again. The company offers the recycling and waste management industries and local authority waste treatment plants and transfer stations a wide range of shredding, composting and screening equipment for the efficient and cost-effective processing of inert and green waste. Blue Machinery is on Stand Number N212 and is introducing new RDF and biomass production plants at the show, featuring the latest Doppstadt equipment for which Blue Machinery is an authorised distributor. Blue Machinery’s portfolio of distributorships also includes Backhus compost and soil turning machinery and Powerscreen screening, washing and recycling plants.

The New Doppstadt DW2860 Duplex
The Doppstadt DW2860 Duplex system is specifically designed and constructed for the production of non-fossil fuel from unprocessed industrial, commercial and household waste.

The Doppstadt DW2860 Duplex is a low-speed, double shaft fine shredder with a fixed counter blade. The 4m long, 1m wide discharge conveyor runs at a speed of 2m/second. The 600mm diameter 2,800mm long rollers, equipped with specially tempered steel cutting plates, rotate in the opposite direction to the centrally located counter blade. The rollers’ surfaces are specially treated to produce optimum efficiency in fine shredding, thereby reducing wear and any related downtime for repair, replacement or maintenance. Accessibility for inspection and maintenance is further improved by hydraulically operating side doors and these also provide the access points for the replaceable screening plates that determine final grain sizes.

Power is provided by twin 210kW DC electric motors with a speed rating of 2,000 RPM. The transmission is via flexible couplings and planetary gears. The separate motor housing is conveniently located away from the shredding area and on the front of the plant. All controls are incorporated in one centralised control panel and are simple to use. The panel can either be installed on the plant next to the motor housing or, if desired, installed remotely at a separate control station using an optional distribution box and associated cabling.

Output for the DW2860 Duplex is, typically, between 5 and 15 tonnes per hour, depending on feed material and specified grain size.

The New Doppstadt DH910
This highly efficient, cost-effective and mobile machine is designed for the commercial production of woodchips for the re-use of waste wood by transforming it into a quality biomass product.

The Doppstadt DH 910 is capable of chipping trunk diameters of up to 900mm, for example, reducing them to a required defined chip size. Compact yet robust, the DH 910 can be positioned and ready for work in a few minutes. All the controls are centralised in one panel and the machine is extremely easy to operate. In terms of operational safety, the DH 910 has emergency stop switches on the control panel and at both sides of the hopper. A remote control system is also available to allow the driver of the feed machine (excavator or loader) to control the most important functions from the machine’s cab.

Robustly constructed, the side walls of the hopper on the DH 910 are reinforced against loader bucket impact and the steel construction, with fixing points for the drive unit, chipping tools and other components, provides excellent operational stability and prolonged active service life. Powered by a Daimler Chrysler OM 502 LA diesel engine, which develops 448kW at 1800RPM nominal speed, the DH 910 has power to spare on even the most arduous applications. The drive unit is protected by an overload cut-off switch and the combined radiator fan is reversible for regular automatic cleaning. The chipping drum itself is of solid steel construction, with blades that can be quickly and easily adjusted from outside the machine using a blade adjustment gauge. The re-shredding screen and rigid cutter bar achieve an homogenous product and the grain size of the chips can be speedily regulated by selecting suitable screen segments for the task in hand. Chipped material is discharged by an integral impeller blower with “cast range” adjustment.

Blue Machinery can provide a turnkey service in the design, installation and commissioning of RDF and biomass plants based on specialist Doppstadt equipment
