CBI unveil new waste shredder at Bauma 2010

Continental Biomass Industries Inc (CBI) have announced the introduction of their new model 5400 horizontal grinder - a versatile machine which can be used for processing a variety of materials such as green/wood waste, logs, stumps & roots, whole trees and C &D waste. The machine will receive its debut launch at the forthcoming Bauma 2010 exhibition in Munich, Germany.

The 5400 can be supplied as a tracked, wheeled or stationary unit, powered by the Caterpillar C18 diesel engine rated at 765 BHP or, as an option, an equivalent rated electric drive motor.

Rotor size on the machine is 1200mm wide x 1000mm diameter and the 5400 has been designed to facilitate the use of CBI's innovative rotor change system allowing users to select from a range of chipping & grinding rotors in order to provide maximum flexibility from one single machine.

Also available as an option on the 5400 is CBI's excellent Metal Detection System (MDS) which will automatically shut down the operation of the machine within a split second of the rotor making contact with ungrindable materials and therefore minimising the downtime/repair costs usually associated with this occurrence.
