- Company & Industry News
Blue Scotland provides nationwide coverage from its Stirling headquarters and is well-established as Scotland's leading single source for crushing, screening, conveying, washing, recycling and composting equipment, with the clear benefit of allowing all aspects of any quarried or recyclable materials processing operation to be supplied and maintained by one experienced and well-established company. The backbone of Blue's ranges includes equipment from world-class OEMs Powerscreen, Doppstadt, Kiverco, Backhus, General Kinematics and Telestack. Alongside the products on show will be a display representing Blue Spares, the Blue Group company dedicated to providing an efficient and comprehensive after sales product support, with a national back-up service of readily available genuine original equipment manufacturers' spare parts.
Blue Scotland's Managing Director Austin Carey says "Scotplant is a vital and highly successful show on our busy exhibition calendar and, once again, we are taking the opportunity at this valued industry biennial event to debut some innovative screening, crushing and shredding equipment, with an emphasis on recycling in addition to our interests in quarrying and aggregate processing machinery".
The Powerscreen Warrior 800 Screening Plant
The market entry Warrior 800 is the latest addition to Powerscreen's Warrior range of heavy duty screening machines. Featuring customer-driven design benefits, the Warrior 800 is a multi-purpose, heavy-duty, incline two-deck screening plant, capable of stockpiling, three-way splitting or scalping before and after the crushing process. The screenbox can be fitted with a wide variety of screen media, making it extremely versatile and suited to a variety of applications including topsoil, recycling, C&D waste, sand and gravel and aggregates. The Warrior 800 will accept material feed size up to 400mm and has a throughput capacity of up to 300 tonnes per hour, depending on the application and selected configuration.
The Warrior 800 features a low profile feed hopper with rear door for direct feeding from a crusher, a 2.77m x 1.22m two-deck screen box, impressive conveyor discharge heights and a folding tail conveyor with integral slide out facility which simplifies screen media changes.
Fast set-up time and easy operation are aided by hydraulic folding tail and side conveyors, rigid feed hopper sides and two speed crawler tracks. The user-friendly electrical control system allows operators to monitor and diagnose the machine on site via an LCD display and without specialist tools.
The Warrior on display is the tracked version (a wheeled model is also available), which is not only highly mobile and agile around the site but also has a compact transport footprint with a width of 2.5m, which makes it easy and cost-effective to move from one location to another.
The Powscreen Pegson XH 250 Impact Crusher
The Powerscreen Pegson XH 250 horizontal shaft impactor is a compact tracked crusher designed for recycling and demolition applications. The plant is capable of processing all material types and can achieve a throughput capacity up to 250 tonnes per hour. The proven impact crusher features hydraulic overload protection, offering excellent reduction and consistently high product yield.
Numerous features on the XH 250 produce a versatility and productivity which belie its compact dimensions. The grizzly feeder is a replaceable tine bar cartridge style and a load management system controls the feeder speed; there is also a fully independent under-crusher vibrating pan feeder. The XH 250 is equipped with a 4-bar rotor and twin apron, with hydraulically adjustable apron setting. A modern PLC system controls crusher speed and conveyor heights. The site proven HFO clutch and direct drive system contributes to excellent fuel economy, reduced emissions and provides power to spare for even the most arduous of crushing tasks.
The Doppstadt DW-3060K Bio Power Shredder
The highly mobile, crawler-mounted Doppstadt DW-3060K Bio Power heavy-duty shredder is the largest and latest machine in the Doppstadt "Buffalo" range and is particularly suited to single pass biofuel production....the first model to be sold in the UK has recently been delivered to a Scottish customer. Capable of handling green waste, large bulk timber and woodwaste, mixed construction waste and industrial refuse, the single shaft, slow-speed DW-3060K Bio Power has numerous beneficial features. These include optimum tooth arrangement on the roller, reversible fan wheel, modified hopper shape for easy loading, electrically controlled roller reversing and a large return conveyor. Additionally, this shredder is equipped with an overband magnet for the safe removal of tramp metals from feed materials.
The DW-3060K Bio Power is equipped with a 430HP Mercedes-Benz diesel engine, which has power to spare for heavy duty applications and processing multiple raw waste material types. Recyclables are produced to exacting specifications and significant volume reductions can be achieved - all with a reliability, productivity and fuel economy which belie its size and potential 82 tonnes per hour throughput. An additional benefit is the shredder's mobility, which allows quick and easy site relocation, taking the machine to the waste material for treatment, rather than the costly and time-consuming process of taking the material to a static machine.
The Doppstadt SM-620K Star Screen
The Doppstadt SM-620K Star Screen features the well-proven screening drum construction with interior helix, which enables space-saving horizontal machine installation. Replaceable screening drums, a variety of ancillary equipment and choice of mesh sizes allows this flexible machine to be adjusted and reconfigured for a wide variety of screening tasks and feed material. The trommel screen drum is 5,430mm in length, 2,000mmm diameter, with a 15rpm rotating speed.
An efficient mechanical power transmission features direct chain wheel drive, with geared motors at the drum surface, and the variable speed provides optimum adjustment for regulation of the screening quality. State-of-the-art SPS control makes for easy operation, precise adjustment and access to the machine's performance and operating data. The model on show is mounted on crawler tracks for total site mobility.
After Sales Product Support
Ever mindful of the need to provide the best quality after sales customer care, product support has always been of vital importance to the company. Blue Machinery Scotland's sister company Blue Spares provides a genuine 24/7 service, with an impressive parts-holding backed by state-of-the-art IT systems for stock control, ordering and expediting. Blue Spares has an enviable reputation for proactive product support and is the essential provider of genuine spare parts for all the products marketed by Blue Group, to ensure minimum downtime and optimum, trouble-free productivity.
