Phoenix Plant has recently completed the first stage of a two part order to supply two sizers to crush ROM coal at 450tph.

- 23rd November 2009
- Materials Handling
The first sizer has been delivered and is currently being installed into the primary crushing plant where a 1 metre wide apron plate feeder will present the ROM coal into the sizer at up to 800tph.
Both machines are fitted with tungsten carbide tipped point attack picks to break the coal; the picks are welded to the shafts in a scrolled helix type configuration to draw away the feed material from the feed end of the machine. Each shaft is timed with the other shaft to provide a primary and secondary breaking action which will provide a good cubical size product and present a manageable size to be transported via an overland conveyor to the secondary processing plant.
The second stage of the order is to construct a similar machine for the sister plant operating in the same coal field. This unit will also crush ROM Coal at 450tph.
