Liebherr at the RWM09 Show

Liebherr at the RWM09 Show
Liebherr-Great Britain Limited is exhibiting once again at RWM09 (15th-17th September at the NEC) on Stand Number OA195. On display will be three materials handling machines from the company's comprehensive range of equipment, specifically designed and built for municipal and commercial waste management, transfer stations recycling operations and scrap handling.

The A 934 C Litronic Industrial Rehandler

A 40 tonnes class wheeled machine, the A 934 C Litronic is powered by a D 934L turbo-charged and after-cooled Liebherr engine complying with Stage IIIA / Tier 3 emissions and developing 150 kW at 1,800 RPM. The heavy-duty axles feature front oscillation lock which can be either automatically or operator controlled and travel speed is infinitely variable and between 2.50 and 18 km/h (road speed). Four hydraulic outriggers provide optimum stability for stationary operations. The machine on display will be a long-reach version equipped with a 0.80 m³ five-tine grab designed for scrap metals handling, an 8.60 metres angled monobloc industrial boom and a 7.50m angled industrial stick, both with load-holding valves. Maximum load capacity is 4.60 tonnes at an impressive 15m radius using outriggers; 2.30 tonnes free-on-wheels. Central automatic lubrication is fitted as standard.

For load visibility, the ergonomically designed operator's cab can be hydraulically elevated to give a line of sight raised to approximately 6.85m. The Litronic engine and hydraulics management system provides complete operational data and safe load indication, air-conditioning is standard as is armoured glass, and the fully adjustable seat is heated and equipped with an automatic ventral safety belt. The steering wheel is adjustable and the twin joysticks are integrated into the seat armrests, providing positive and accurate control of slew and the attachments.

The A 316 Litronic Industrial Rehandler

The A 316 Litronic is a wheeled materials handler featuring an hydraulically elevating cab, a 3.5m stick and a 5.5m industrial boom for lift height and long reach capabilities. The machine is equipped with a waste sorting grab and hydraulic swivel for full 360° rotation. For operational stability, the A 316 is fitted with front and rear hydraulic outriggers and, when free-on-wheels, the mobility and agility of this machine provides excellent manoeuvrability around site.

The A316 Litronic is a 21 tonnes class machine and the engine output is 94kW, providing power to spare. Highly successsful in waste transfer stations and scrap metal processing applications, the A 316 has maximum lift capacities of up to 11 tonnes, an optimum reach of 9 metres and a lift height of up to 9 metres.

The operator's cab is typically comfortable and functional, with Litronic engine, hydraulic and electronic management system and lift charts. A safe load indicator is standard. The cab can be hydraulically raised to give an eye-line of approximately 5 metres.

The L 5502plus2 High Lift Waste Handler

The Liebherr L 5502plus2 is an articulated, hydrostatically driven wheeled loader in the 16 tonnes class, with a tipping load of 11,650kg and is one of a range of sixteen hydrostatic wheeled loading shovels from Liebherr. Power is supplied by a Liebherr made engine which develops 130kW, fully complying with Stage IIIA / Tier 3 emissions. The special Ulrich high-tip trash clamp bucket fitted to the show model has a capacity of 3.50m³, which provides a superb dump height clearance of 5.38m - ideal for loading and tamping material into high-sided bulkers.

All Liebherr Waste Handlers feature high level, isolated cooling systems which are equipped with an automatically reversing fan to maintain radiator cleanliness and efficiency; cyclonic engine air pre-cleaners are also included to combat the dusty environment found in many recycling applications. The hydrostatic driveline system on the loaders not only contributes to considerable fuel consumption benefits but also, with limited slip differential in both front and rear axles, produces good efficient pushing power when stockpiling whilst, at the same time, prolonging tyre life. An automatic greasing system is standard and greatly contributes to reducing maintenance time.
