New Sand Plant for Swedish operator Sydsten.

Working with their distributor Peal, CDE have installed a new sand washing plant for Swedish operator Sydsten.
The build includes a new CDE A-Series 'A-62' Compact Sands Plant
alongside a C-Series 'C-32', which simultaneously produces washed and dewatered fine and coarse sands from 120tph 0-3mm crushed rock feed. The raw material contains circa 17% minus 0.063mm fines which is reduced to less than 5% in each product to meet the customer's specification requirement.
This is the latest in a number of customized builds CDE have undertaken for the Swedish market. Restrictions on the use of natural sand within the country has lead to increased demand for innovative washing plants, tailored to individual requirements.
CDE worked closely with the customer and their Swedish distributor to ensure a full understanding of the project requirements, which included an inspection of the Northern Ireland manufacturing facility and headquarters earlier this year.
CDE have previously installed custom builds for other leading Swedish operators including Halls, Swerock, Rimbo Jord, and Johannsen.
Traditional equipment such as bucket wheel dewaterers are unable to achieve the product consistency and accurate fines removal that are essential with this type of project. The use of hydro cyclones certainly facilitates the accurate separation of excess fines but the ability of CDE to bespoke design each machine is key to the success of these projects.
The Sydsten example includes two cyclones in series, two dewatering screens, and two heavy-duty slurry pumps; each of these components has been sized and specified according to the individual feed and output requirements of this customer. Material is delivered to the plant in a 0-3mm slurry form from a Binder rinsing screen. The CDE Dual Sands Plant then washed and separates the sand into the required 0.063mmx1mm and 0.063x3mm fractions.
