TRM have recently installed their new 550 Series Sizer into the deepest mine in Europe

The client requested that the machine could handle large hard lumps  that would be included in the ROM material been presented to the sizer. A capacity of 500 tonnes per hour of -150mm product was the requirement.

Without any modifications to the sizer the tonnage could be increased as and when the project requires.

The Sizing machine chosen was a 515mm centers unit, using a solid ring 4 tooth configuration mounted on hexagon shafts. The teeth were retained using the TRM hydraulic tensioning units, by removing these nuts, the teeth can be simply and easily removed from the hexagon rotors.

The Main bearing housing that support the main rotors have also been modified to use larger spherical roller bearings, the labyrinth seal arrangement which now includes O rings, stops all possibilities of any moisture or foreign bodies entering the sealed capsules. The bearing capsules are still grease fed.

The main body of the sizer was made wider than usual, this allowed a greater percentage of fines to pass between the rotor and side frame cleaning comb, allowing a greater throughput and reduced wear on the main rotors.

Quick release cleaning combs were connected to the side frames to stop oversize material from passing.

The whole sizer has been redesigned to give a more heavy-duty construction whilst saving weight and still been compact in overall dimensions. The sizer was fitted with the XLR Range of gearboxes, actual power installed was an electric motor, 225kw 4 pole 2.2kv

The new XLR range of gearboxes  are designed and rated for a continuous use of  50,000 hours. The final addition to the TRM Sizing  series is the new machine management system.

Shaft rotation sensors connected to the main rotors, Oil level and oil temperature, fluid coupling speed , temperature and auto lube system are now included, some of these parameters can be adjusted to suit the environment the Sizer has been installed.

Due to the compact nature and modular design of the Sizer, the unit was completely stripped down and reassembled in the mine.

All spare parts required for this unit, seals, bearings, etc  are kept in stock for quick supply.
