Liebherr mobile crane LTM 11200-9.1 proves itself at the erection of wind power plants
Directly after delivery at the end of November the new LTM 11200-9.1 for the Irish company McNally - Windhoist drove from the Liebherr factory in Ehingen to its first assignment in Heidenheim near Nuremberg. There it was erected in a typical wind power configuration: 100 m telescopic boom with Y-suspension, 16 m lattice extension and hydraulically adjustable 6,5 m assembly jib. After the installation of the uppermost part of the 98 m tower the machine house and the 55 t weighing generator of the Enercon E-70 wind power plant was mounted. The 50 t heavy wing star with 70 m diameter was preassembled at ground level. The LTM 11200-9.1 lifted the rotor at a sheave height of 115 m precisely for the installation to the hub of the generator. At this operation it proved that the hydraulically adjustment of the assembly jib allows for sensitive movements for installations at great heights.

The LTM 11200-9.1 is optimal designed for erection of wind power plants of the 2 -3 MW class with its 100 m telescopic boom. The erection times are noticeably shorter in comparison to the lattice boom cranes and for the erection of the boom comparable less counterweight is necessary.
