Transworld Recycling Machinery has just finished commissioning a Furniture and Bed recycling plant located in the Midlands.

In 2007 TRM worked with the customer demonstrating various Items through existing TRM shredders to see how the items were shredded, what size was required to further recycle and what power cutting tool configuration was needed. TRM and their client visited many sites to assess what other parts were required to install in the recycling system. TRM's in house design team put together a system that would feed, shred and separate items being disposed of at the new site. The Client requested that each item being fed into the shredding chamber should be processed in 60 seconds. Allowing 60 units per hour to be recycled.

The System has actually recycled  over 100 units in a minute.

The System comprises of an infeed conveyor, 400kw single shaft shredder, outfeed conveyors, separation system, overband magnet, compactor and baler.

The chosen material is furniture, mattress, divans, tables, chairs etc. These units are fed into the single shaft shredder. The single shaft shredder reduces the units to the required outfeed size where it is delivered onto the separation tables. These tables agitate and move  the material to allow the overband magnet to remove the steel from the material. The steel is then conveyed into bins ready for further recycling.

The separation system then directs the wood waste into the compactor for use in the pending Bio Mass facility that will be used to produce waste to energy.

The soft flock, wadding material is directed to the Baler where it is baled, tied off and sent for to be re- introduced as a fill product at another manufacturing facility.

Apart from cutting transport costs, major landfill cost and storage issues

TRM believe that by using this process we can recycle or use 95% of the material generated and stop it from being put into landfill.

The TRM recycling system has now generate  a revenue for the customer

This is the first of its kind and solely manufactured in the UK.  TRM already has pending enquiries for the supply of this type of system for other areas of the UK.

TRM can produce turn key systems to recycle most products.
