Finedoor of Morley, Leeds have recently completed the replacement of two asphalt screens over two phases to replace old grease lubricated screens for Tarmac at their Scunthorpe Santon site.
Tarmac currently operate two asphalt plants on site; the first plant originally receiving a new replacement 7 x 2.1m – 3 ½ deck screen with oil bath system; with more recently, a further screen 4.6 x 1.2m – 4 ½ deck has been supplied for the second plant
These screen replacement has provided Tarmac with additional benefits as both screens incorporate pumped oil lubrication with computer monitoring, and each is fitted with a recirculation oil system with oil filtration and air blast cooling to provide stabilised temperatures. Both the screens are also self regulating, requiring little or no maintenance, and the latest unit is fitted with total rubber encapsulation providing environmentally friendly operation.
