Liebherr-Rental Orders Kinshofer Excavator Attachments at SED

Liebherr-Rental Limited firmed up an order at the recent SED exhibition with Kinshofer UK Limited for a number of materials handling and demolition attachments for their growing fleet of specialist excavators. The order is comprised of a range of heavy-duty demolition and sorting grabs plus a selection of MQP "multi-quick" processors with Kinshofer's unique jaw exchange system. Kinshofer attachments are already used in the Liebherr-Mietpartner rental fleet in continental Europe.

The attachments on order are matched to excavators in the Liebherr-Rental fleet ranging from 14-40 tonnes operating weight for the grabs and 32-50 tonnes for the processors, which are initially being supplied with combi jaws, steel jaws and pulverizer jaws.

All the attachments will be configured to Liebherr's fully automatic Likufix system and Liebherr Tool Control, which allows machine operators to change equipment without leaving the cab. Once Likufix has hydraulically changed the attachment, the excavator's auxiliary hydraulic system can be adjusted at the push of a button to match the characteristics of the appropriate tool via a series of sensors; the hydraulic pressure data and oil quantities can be stored for up to 10 hydraulically operated tools, making it unnecessary to reprogram the hydraulic parameters for different attachments, with the selected tool displayed in text format on the screen.

The Kinshofer sorting grabs are models D20H, D32H and D40H, equipped with full 360º hydraulic rotation and with capacities from 480-825 litres. The MQP Multi-Quick Processors feature Kinshofer's patented DSXpower cylinder for optimum power and faster cycle times. The combi jaws supplied have a 1200kN closing force and a maximum jaw opening width of 980mm. Jaw sets can be changed in less than 10 minutes. Wearparts are reversible for extended working life and can be quickly and easily replaced on site.
