The Wrights Dowson Group, with manufacturing roots at Gamlingay, Bedfordshire going back to 1750, has, over the recent decades, developed into one of the UK's leading bulk handling specialists. With a historic pedigree in the manufacture and supply of Screw Conveyors, Feeders and assorted bulk handling equipment Wrights Dowson Group identified during the 1980's the growing need for a controlled, traceable, quality assessment of a wide range of ‘in process' bulk materials.

Calling on its strongly developed historical ties with a number of North American equipment manufacturers, in 1988, Wrights Dowson Group drew up a distribution agreement with InterSystems Inc, initially, to sell the InterSystems range of Industrial Samplers in the UK and Ireland. With the continued success of the arrangement Wrights Dowson then developed sales of industrial and powder samplers throughout Europe and in recent years on a worldwide basis.  Since the beginning of 2007 sampling equipment has been sold to Poland, Spain, Jordan, China and India with equipment also placed in Japan and Africa whilst in the UK, a leading quarrying company, has placed a further order, bringing the total to eight in operation, to sample limestone powder.

The strength of the 20, year agreement between InterSystems and Wrights Dowson Group can be shown in the approach to a problem put by a Poland based chemical manufacturer. The issue, how to carry out a particle size analysis on their specific grade of pneumatically conveyed Titanium Dioxide and provide a guarantee that it would work to the given specification.  Whilst the Wrights Dowson Group had previously supplied sampler systems for the handling of Titanium Dioxide, which included a number of features developed to suit the very fine, searching nature of the product, it was felt that the request for added guarantees required the input of InterSystems Inc. Following discussions at engineering and project level with InterSystems engineers the final solution put forward by the Wrights Dowson Group, with the requisite guarantee, included a number of unique features, which proved so successful that the customer  has very quickly placed a follow up order.
