TEREX wins a-plant’s ‘supplier of the year’ award

COVENTRY, ENGLAND, Friday, June 13, 2008 --- Leading construction equipment manufacturer Terex Construction UK won the coveted Supplier of the Year for Plant award at A-Plant's Annual Conference 2008, held on May 19 in Celtic Manor, Newport.

Terex was selected for the award by A-Plant depot managers, who were invited to vote for suppliers they feel go ‘above and beyond' when providing service and support to their rental company.  Terex triumphed over numerous A-Plant suppliers to collect the trophy, and         A-Plant's Senior Purchasing Manager, Tony Grimshaw, believes this is due to Terex Construction UK's recent realignment, which has brought the company closer to their customers.

"Since the business changes were made to Terex within the UK, the company has made big strides in terms of their warranty and aftermarket support," Grimshaw said.  "The Supplier of the Year award proves that the A-Plant staff has grown in confidence and faith for both the performance of Terex® machinery and the team members they deal with on both a day-to-day and long-term basis. 

"Our Terex Account Manager, Pete Barfield is a credit to the Terex organisation and demonstrates the emphasis they place on never leaving their customers with a problem.  Pete has been instrumental in making sure our depot managers get the support they require, when they require it."

Pete Barfield commented: "A-Plant has been a valued customer of Terex for many years and we are pleased that our commitment to their company and staff has been recognized. We hope to continue this level of service for many years to come.  It is partnerships such as these that demonstrate the success that can be achieved through long-term strategic alliances combined with short-term customer responsiveness."

More than 500 people attended the event in Newport, which included representatives from A-Plant's sales force, depot managers and suppliers.
