Liebherr expands alliance with Immersive

This follows the alliance signed in 2005 for the Immersive T 282 B simulator representing one of the world's largest haul trucks.

Liebherr will now work exclusively with Immersive Technologies to develop training simulators for the Liebherr range of excavator and shovels.

The first mining excavator represented in a simulator is the company's current flag ship the R 996. Other models will follow imminently given the market's strong demand for simulation products for enhanced operator training for mining machines.

"Liebherr can see the advantages of simulator based training for operators from both safety and machine availability perspectives," said Burkhard Richthammer, Liebherr product and marketing manager for hydraulic mining excavators at Liebherr's main mining excavator factory in Colmar, France.
