New Waste Regulations Come Into Force.

- 23rd August 2005
- Quarrying
The first part of the Hazardous Waste regulations came into force on 16 April 2005 with the requirement "Where hazardous waste is produced at or removed from, any premises other than exempt premises, the premises must be notified to the Environment Agency". This means that any business producing hazardous waste has a legal duty to register a premise where hazardous waste is produced. Each premises registered will be given a unique registration number - known as a 'premises code'.
As this legislation has now come into effect Fuchs Lubricants has further developed "Clean Solutions," their unique, national, specialist environmental waste management programme.
Within the "Clean Solutions" package Fuchs can now offer registration for the client, as by 16th July you will need to register your company with the Environment Agency. This will be known as "Notification of Premise". This requirement is for each site. For companies who operate more than one activity on a site, each activity will need to register (multi franchise, body shop/workshop)
Providing an industry specific tailored collection of all waste streams their programme not only meets but now exceeds current environmental legislation providing a cost-effective environmental package disposing of waste products in a controlled, environmentally sensitive manner.
Clean Solutions will effectively manage and provide a single source waste disposal of "Hazardous waste" which includes waste oil, oil/fuel filters, coolant, brake fluid, used rags/granules, lead batteries, paint, thinners, aerosols, empty oil containers among other things. Tailored made to meet individual customer requirements it provides the benefits of a fully compliant waste collection service for a fixed monthly fee.
The programme offers a 365 day service where as the Clean Solutions computer will automatically generate collection on an as needed basis, including a 24 hour emergency helpline.
As part of the Clean Solutions package a Fuchs area manager conducts an initial survey and based on this visit will provide appropriate expert advice on all aspects of waste and the environment including environmental safety, storage and handling, HSSE and COSHH. In addition the company can also provide relevant environmental training for customers' staff.
