Rugby High Strength Cement is a traditional CEM1 or Portland cement which is suitable for use in general purpose concrete, render and mortar. It is designed to give higher strength concrete without rapid setting, making it ideal for thinner or more critical applications. This new product replaces Rugby Rapid Cement.
Rugby Post Mix Professional is designed for both domestic and commercial applications, and is suitable for relatively small applications such as securing road signs, street lamps or bollards and domestically, for installing fence posts.
Post Mix Professional does not require mixing with water before placing in situ, water is added after placing it in position, and it will be set hard within 10 to 15 minutes, depending on ambient temperature. Its fine 6mm aggregate content ensures a smooth surface finish.
The complete Rugby cement ‘line up' now consists of the following products:
1. Rugby High Strength Cement
2. Rugby Post Mix Professional
3. Rugby + Premium
4. Rugby +Sulfate
5. Rugby White Cement
6. Rugby + Cement
7. Rugby Fast Set
8. Rugby Hydrated Lime.
CEMEX UK is pioneering the use of blended cements, which are more sustainable based on their reduced clinker content use of by-products from other industries. Rugby+ Cement, Premium and Sulfate, are all made from CEM2 cement. This is a factory-blended cement, which incorporates a by-product of coal fired stations, Fly-Ash, in the product, thereby reducing the carbon footprint associated with the manufacturing process by up to 45%.
To assist the builders merchant guide customers to the correct product, a series of printed literature, including datasheets, has been produced for each product to highlight its benefits, application and features. There is also a guide to the full range, and A2 point-of-sale poster for display.
For customers wanting to discuss their product needs, further advice is available through the CEMEX Product Support Helpline on 0800 667 827 and http://www.cemex.co.uk/ carries all the information on the range available.
