Sales boost shows partnerships success
Following the very successful partnership of Geo. Robson & Co (Conveyors) Ltd and Aviteq the German Vibration Technology Company, Robson Vibratory Systems Division has been encouraged by both a boost in sales and enquiries.
Robson have designed and built vibration systems for many years often using Aviteq's range of vibratory motors and this agreement ensures Robson is now the official Aviteq distributor within the UK.
Vibration Technology has seen a surge of usage throughout all industries. Wet or dry materials can be conveyed using vibration, often used for grading or dewatering, the Vibratory Conveyor is accurate and infinitely variable to suit requirements.
Shaken but not stirred
Within most industries explosive dust is a major problem. Therefore ATEX (Explosive Atmospheres) and DSEAR (Dangerous Substances & Explosive Atmospheres Regulations) have to be closely followed. Robson has developed a Vibratory System suitable for explosive dust, where the internal trough meets the requirements of Category 1 (Zone 20) and the external is rated as Category 2/3 suitable for Zone 21 and 22.
Used mainly within the food industry, the Atex Vibratory System is compatible to most areas of application using foodstuffs including animal feeds, grain, sugar, powered milk and flour.
Non-food Atex applications include coal, biomass and chemical products.
The vibration technology used allows Robson to design the system to Feed, Dose, Measure, Transfer, Screen, Scalp, Dry, Grade, Dewater or even systems that combine of all these can be designed to meet the customers requirements.
When in the middle of nowhere
Vibratory Systems are often used in quarrying, as the robust design and lack of moving parts are well suited to the harsh environments. The application of screening and scalping is widely used throughout all types of quarrying and opencast mining. Low maintenance is often the number one customer requirement, with systems purchased for installation in remote areas reliability is crucial.
Power generation and kiln feed systems have significant uses for Vibratory Feeders and Screens. Continuity and purity of product is key, the screens ensure the correct sized filtered particle is fed to the furnace or kiln; regulated feeders ensure a continual dosed feed.
Making the Grade
Grading and sizing is a major use for the vibratory system using a number of decreasing sized grids the system can grade sizes, or separate the oversize / undersize of the product. Especially useful in the aggregates and food industry the Vibratory system enables chutes to divert the graded products either to reject for further processing, such as grinding or crushing or to packaging and transport.
Troughed feeders are often designed when the bulk movement of product is required. Using either an Electromagnetic Drive or Unbalanced Motors the troughed feeder accurately delivers the amount of product needed. Although particularly used within the Glass batch industry for the precise dosing properties the Vibratory feeder is used throughout industry for dosing and filling operations.
Vibratory Systems also have a niche with Wet Products; almost any type of wet solids can be; conveyed, dewatered or filtered. Used within the water treatment and sewage industries the dewatering process enables solids to be separated and processed.
Green in any colour
Waste and recycling industries use many types of Vibration systems; application includes ash removal ensuring smooth operation of incinerators. The Glass Recycling industry is a major user of Vibration Technology fed from crushers troughed feeders transport cullet and other ingredients for reprocessing.
And for the little things
Fine graded materials often pose problems for bulk processing. Robson developed the Tubular Feeder to ensure full enclosure of the product ‘keeping the product in and contaminates out'. Similarly the compact feeder is used for the charging and dosing of fine materials with flow rates ranging from a few kilograms per hour to 25m3/hr.
