Crossley Evans goes leaner with Sennebogen!

Waste Management Specialists Crossley Evans, based in Shipley, are one of the largest recycling companies in the UK. Currently one of the top four suppliers to Corus in West Yorkshire they supply up to 4000 tonnes of ferrous material per month and have subsequently achieved a vendor rating of 98%.
This constant supply has provided a big advantage for their customers as the Corus premiums are passed to them achieving a far better price for their materials than the majority of UK merchants and traders.
The company, ever conscious of the increased pressure of leaner manufacturing and rising material prices have made substantial efforts through recent investment and expertise to increase operating efficiency.
With a modern fleet of road vehicles fully fitted and controlled by GPS the company operate from three key centres, one of which is equipped with rail freight facilities which can offer the alternative of transportation in a more sound environmental manner.
Efficient material handling is of course high on the agenda, the company having invested in several Sennebogen machines including a 835R-HD "C" in 2004 have now received delivery of a Sennebogen 850R-HD crawler machine with wide axle gauge undercarriage. The B7 type undercarriage has a track length of 6000mm and is fitted with 800mm wide triple bar tack shoes. With a type K21 compact boom measuring 12.1 metres straight type and a 9 metre stick length Crossley Evans specifically chose the longest boom available to achieve the maximum reach when loading wagons at their rail facility.
Powered by a Caterpillar C9 diesel engine the machine producing 230 kw at 1800 rpm the material handler has a lifting capacity of 15 tonnes.
Having added to their already existing fleet of Sennebogen material handlers Crossley Evans has been delighted with their performance, efficiency and reliability.
