New super bright LED Remote Display for clear reading at a distance

- 28th March 2008
- Materials Handling
These easy to read displays mean that operators do not need to walk around a site checking readouts. When integrated to a weighbridge, for example, there is no reason for a driver to leave the safety of his or her cab.
The remote displays use auto-learn technology to make installation quick and easy. This can interpret the communication format and data stream of almost any instrument automatically to reduce set up time.
Wireless communication from thousands of feet away is possible since all the models have an integrated RF socket. Users simply plug the optional RF module inside the remote and connect a base transceiver to the indicator or PC.
Says Larry Behrens, product manager for Avery Weigh-Tronix: "There is usually no need to press buttons or set switches to configure the XR series with its plug and play capability. It can be integrated to virtually any weighing equipment and can be used for a huge range of applications.
"By enclosing it in a durable, weather-tight box it can be used for even the harshest of environments."
Data can be orientated for viewing normally or through a rear view mirror and the display is available with a variety of pole mounting kits and visors to assist visibility. A built in photo sensor automatically adjusts display intensity to select between eight brightness levels for day and night operation.
For unmanned operations the XR 4500TL model can be ordered with an integrated red/green traffic light, to save the expense of installing a separate system, or the built in relay can be used to control external devices. This helps ensure safe vehicle entry onto the weighbridge and the safe flow of traffic around the site.
The remote displays have a wide range of preinstalled programmes for different weighing applications and can display data in either tonnes or kilograms with the gross and net weight.
