NORD Gear Limited is the UK subsidiary and assembly plant for Getriebebau NORD whose headquarters is in Bargteheide near Hamburg, Germany.  The company employs some 2,500 people and has been developing, manufacturing and delivering drive technology since 1965.

The technical sophistication and quality of both the mechanical and the electronic product ranges has earned NORD a leading position in the drive industry worldwide. NORD's helical inline, helical parallel-shaft, helical-bevel, worm, and industrial gear units, with mechanical friction disc or V-belt speed variable speed units, can deliver torques from 10 Nm to 200,000 Nm.  These can be supplied as a package with NORD motors with powers from 0.12 kW to 200 kW and to complement the product portfolio either panel or motor mounted NORDAC frequency inverters.
