Due to the success of this machine, production was moved from Extec's initial Leicester bases first to Brightside lane in Sheffield, and then as the business grew to larger premises in Wincobank, and finally, Swadlincote. This site has since seen massive redevelopment with new offices and greatly extended production area, rising to 500,000ft² of state of the art production area.

The first class production facilities have always been a key element in Extec's success. Through massive investment in the bespoke factory development in Swadlincote, and use of the latest technology, Extec have managed to increase production to satisfy demand.

Extec currently employ over five hundred people world-wide, with manufacturing undertaken in two bespoke factories in the UK and Northern Ireland.  The products are sold throughout the world with primary areas of operation being in the UK, Germany, USA, Russia, India, Australia and Latin America.  In fact, Extec screens and crushers are found in practically every corner of the globe with recent sales being in such diverse places as Tahiti, China and Latvia.

Testament to the large worldwide presence of Extec is that the company has been recently awarded the Queens Award for Export. In both 2005 and 2007, Extec received this award, acknowledging the continued success of the company in developing overseas markets.

In May 2007 Extec were acquired by the Sandvik Group in a deal that has lead to the creation of an all encompassing crushing and screening section - now arguably the number one crushing and screening manufacturer in the world.

From the very first 5000 the customer focused product range has been the cornerstone of Extec's success.  The current product range comprises of the following world leading screens and crushers.

- Crushers

The range of mobile crushers from Extec are all fully remote controlled, fully tracked and highly productive systems for the reduction of materials.

• The C-12⁺ and C-10⁺ Jaw crushers - Massive throughput, with many maintenance features, for primary and secondary crushing of rock, concrete, asphalt, brick, re-bar and is totally at home in all C&D and Quarry applications
• The I-C13 Impact crusher - Excellent reduction of materials including chalk, granite, limestone, coal, sandstone, C&D materials and asphalt.
• The X44 SBS and X38 SBS Cone crusher - High levels of reduction on tough rock materials, slate, brick, limestone and most recycling/demolition applications

• The S-3 Single screen - excellent mobility and screening performance for the producer who requires the compact solution
• The S-4, S-5 and S-6 Doublescreen - Using the Doublescreen concept, the ultimate separation of materials can be achieved at massive rates of throughput
• The S-7 Triple Deck Doublescreen - A Triple Deck Doublescreen enables up to 4 product grades to be achieved with maximum effectiveness and productivity
• The E-7 Finger screen - maximum separation of difficult and heavy materials
• The Robotrac mobile scalper - highly mobile and capable of offering massive production

- Shredder

The Extec shredder is capable of reducing the volume of material up to 1/6^th original volume, offering great effectiveness on virtually any materials

• The 3600 Shredder - designed for general purpose material reduction and capable of shredding small cars and refrigerators, tyres, waste and timber

- FT-818 Recycling System

The FT-818 Recycling System offers users a customised system based around an Extec finger screen, found on the market leading E-7, and a trommel screen.  Designed for the recycling operation that requires the ultimate in product separation for re-use, and resale.

• The F-T818 Recycling system - Offers the maximum separation of mixed waste materials, providing a wide array of products for reuse and resale.
