Precision Screen proudly introduces, the Precision Screen Track Crush VSI.

Precision Screen is the first company in the world to build a Tracked Vertical Shaft Impactor that can handle in excess of 300tph comfortably. Built and designed in Australia by Precision Screen R&D team, headed up by Managing Director Harold Kerr, this machine has been a major success in the aggregate making process throughout Australia. The Precision Screen Track Crush VSI is working in some of the harshest conditions to produce the best shaped stone around.

Precision Screen is an innovative manufacturing company with extensive experience in the industry (22 years) and a supplier of world leading crushing and screening equipment.

Precision Screen find their innovations from clients within the industry by speaking to them on a one to one level to uncover common issues they are faced with.

One area of need has been the production of material which meets the exacting specifications of its customers (ie shape of of stone). Stage 4 crushing, in aggregate manufacturing is becoming more and more important and the key to a top quality product. With such a large volume of mobile crushers and screens in the market place, it seemed like a matter of time before the market demanded a VSI on tracks to better shape their material. This is how the Precision Screen Track Crush VSI crusher came about.

Precision Screen embraced this challenge some 9 years ago in 2001, producing the first ever tracked VSI crusher using the Barmac (8100) crushing Chamber. Back then the demand for this type machine was still quite low; however Harold Kerr and his team saw the potential for a high production rock shaping aggregate crusher. This first unit had some very unique features, making it stand out way before its time.

This machine proudly boasted:

· The first Mobile VSI on Tracks
· The first Tracked VSI to produce 250tph consistently
· The first to provide a machine that can walk at a workable speed 2.5k proportional control
· The first Hydraulically Driven VSI
· The first to use Hydraulic Levelling Tracks with walking beam style
· The first to have an adjustable discharge height on the tail conveyor to suit other machines in circuit and lowers to 900mm for servicing
· The first to provide ample capacity to allow the engine to run at 1730rpm (for best fuel economy at full hp) while the crusher runs at up to 1800 rpm

The self levelling feature has proven to be an invaluable part of the machine as you can position the machine dead level anywhere on the quarry floor ensuring a balanced crusher at all times. It also helps eliminate any unwanted stress in the chassis. Some 9 years later Precision Screen still boasts this as a main feature.

From this earlier model, the machine has evolved into a world class unrivalled Mobile Vertical Shaft Impactor using the latest crushing technology.

A lot has been learned from the earlier models and each one has been improved upon to the stage Precision Screen are today. Such improvements included greater horse power and available
hydraulic power, along with new style crushing chambers that better compliment mobile machines. The outcome today is a 350tph machine with maximum fuel efficiency and power using the best technology in the market.

Precision Screen recently launched the first ever tracked mobile SANDVIK MERLIN VSI (CV118) .
Previously Precision Screen have used the Barmac crushing chamber, but have changed from this to the latest Sandvik MERLIN VSI as it offers superior crushing advancements. With the Hurricane Rotor in the CV118 VSI chamber coupled with an astonishing 350KW of Hydraulic power available, this crusher is sure to remain unrivalled at the top of the list for some time.

Precision Screen has worked closely with its customers to design and manufacture a high quality,
market leading machine which effectively meets the customers' needs and is miles ahead of the
competition.

The Precision Screen Track Crush VSI:

· Uses the best Crushing Chamber and technology Sandvik Merlin CV118
· Hand built with the Precision that is accustomed to our company
· Cat C15 engine which provides 350KW of hydraulic power
· VSI rotor speed hydraulically adjustable by engine rpm- for maximum fuel efficiency
· Sauer Danfoss Control system monitoring crusher speed
· Self levelling track system (under carriage)
· High Capacity machine well in excess of 300tph
· Extended tail conveyor
· Proven machine that has been working in the market place for over 9 years

Precisionscreen invited over 250 customers from Australia, the Pacific region and the UK to gain a first hand appreciation of new mobile crushing and screening equipment in action over a 3 day event at the Nucrush quarry in SE Queensland.

Sandvik Cone and Impact Crushers In Action

Sandvik is the world's foremost mobile crushing and screening solutions provider and is exclusively distributed in Australia by Precisionscreen. All eyes at the event turned to the Australian launch of the new Sandvik QH440 Mobile Cone Crusher as it was put through its paces. The QH440 is a heavy-duty, self contained tracked cone crusher designed for ease of mobility, for rapid set up time and transportation. Powered by a fuel-efficient 328 kW C-13 diesel engine, the QH440 incorporates a Sandvik CH440 cone crusher with a 14" direct drive wet clutch. The cone has a choice of concaves and eccentric bush settings which provides a CSS range of 8mm to 48mm allowing a feed size of up to 215mm and 388 TPH. The QH440 is capable of operating in the most hostile environments on earth – see photo, and its flexibility makes it one of the most versatile tracked cone crushers on the market to suit the most demanding mining application.

Not to be out done, the new Sandvik QI440 Mobile Impact Crusher was officially launched in Australia by Michael Brookshaw, EMEA Distributor Manager for Sandvik. It is a heavy-duty, track mounted impact crusher with an optional onboard re-circulating system, double screen boxes and double deck to allow two screened products to be produced along with an oversize. The oversize can be re-circulated back into the impactor, without re-handling, or the conveyor can be hydraulically rotated to produce a clean oversize product. Arguably the new Sandvik QI440 is set to become the definitive heavy duty tracked impact crusher with the capability of delivering an even greater return on its investment through its ability to produce accurately sized products.

Precisionscreen Triple Deck in Action

A special highlight of the event was the launch of the Australian designed and built Precisionscreen PS480T tracked horizontal triple deck screen. It is based on proven Precisionscreen innovation and technology and features a large 20x6ft screening area on each of the 3 decks, 4 hydraulically folding conveyors and hydraulically leveling undercarriage. The triple deck screen immediately generated a lot of interest and positive feedback from the assembled customers and is destined to make its mark at mining and quarrying sites around the world.

The event also provided the ideal opportunity for Precisionscreen to showcase its wide range of proven world-class products and support systems for the mining and quarrying industries. As part of its commitment to every customer the team at Precisionscreen works hard to deliver a tailored solution that achieves higher productivity and improved profitability. It is an on-going process of adding value that involves a close working partnership and open dialogue with each customer. The event certainly demonstrated this commitment and judging by the enthusiastic comments and feedback from their customers it will become an anticipated and regular event.

Just as the crushing and screening equipment on display worked as an integrated team, the success of the Open Day was achieved through a tremendous team effort involving the support of many within the industry including The Institute of Quarrying Australia, Hitachi (ZX470 excavator), John Deere (K644 & K744 wheel loaders) and Transmin Breakers & Attachments.

The last word goes to Paul Kerr, General Manager for Precisionscreen, "It is important for customers to see this type of equipment in action locally and discuss their specific application and issues on-site with not only general management but experienced operators and technical experts. The event certainly delivered the 'wow' factor to our customers and demonstrated the real commitment both Precisionscreen and Sandvik have to the mining and quarrying industries in Australia and beyond."
